Review: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas

Title: A Court of Thorns and Roses
Author: Sarah J Maas
Publishers: Bloomsbury
Page Count: 416

Goodreads Synopsis:
When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

This book meets up to all the standards I set for it. The hype is much deserved for this book and Maas does not disappoint in any way because this book was amazing!

I had some hesitation when going into this book because of all the hype that was circulating even before it was published and also I was scared that I wouldn't like it because of how much I adore Sarah's other books but I should not have been worried because this book was ridiculously good!

The main character in this book, Feyre, was one of my favourite protagonists that I have ever read about. She was independent and realistic as well as being strong and brave. She did not make stupid choices which made me want to pull my hair out and I never found myself annoyed at her. The other characters in this book such as Tamlin, Lucien and Alis, were all so fantastic and there was not a character that I didn't love (even if they were evil...)

The plot of this book was fantastic because it set off with so much potential and the story unfolded as you went along which lead to so much suspense and tension! As great as all this suspense and tension is, sometimes I thought I knew what was going to happen but twists and turns happened which added greatly to this book! I never found myself bored because this book was action packed even when the characters were doing nothing.

The ending of this book was brilliant because it was not only unexpected but totally justified which is something that many books lack when they try to pull off an awesome ending. This is the first book in a trilogy so when I started reading this book even before it came out I was scared that the ending of this book was going to leave me desperate for the next book which wouldn't be coming out until FOREVER but this book could've been a standalone from the ending which I was so grateful to Sarah J Maas for but at the same time there was a lot that could lead to the second book.

Overall I thought this book was fantastic (If you couldn't already tell). A Court of Thorns and Roses is a fast paced heart breaker that will keep you on the edge of your seat and I would recommend it to anyone. I gave A Court of Thorns and Roses...

5/5 Stars

That's all for this review! I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you again soon.

Happy Reading!
