Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…
That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.
Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.
Colleen Hoover has never failed to write an emotional, shocking and fantastic book and Hopeless was no exception. Hopeless was such a ride, twist after plot twist and amazing characters that you will care for so much as the book goes on.
Our main character Sky was strong and independent as we started the book. I really jelled with the way she dealt with situations and I didn't find her annoying in any part of the book. Much like a lot of Colleen's other main characters, Sky had such a deep and interesting background that was revealed to us gradually throughout the book but in this book, it was taken to a whole new level in this book. Sky has such a crazy background and it was revealed to us through plot twist after plot twist after PLOT TWIST it was crazy! This book was such an emotional ride just due to the absolutely crazy crazy crazy twists.
Due to these plot twists I have to say that the plot was fantastically thought out and so complex that I am baffled that Colleen Hoover could think of all of this. I was constantly thinking about this book and thinking about the next time I would be able to read it because the plot was addictive!
Our love interest in this book, Holder, was everything I hoped for from the love interest in this book. He was also another complex character, he started off completely differently as how we saw him later in the book, though I do not think this is because of character development, but once again we got to see more and more of his history and his personality as the book went on.
Overall, this book was no disappointment, if anything it defied my expectations and make me an emotional wreck, so I gave it...
That is all for this review! I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you again soon!
