Review: Wait For You by J. Lynn

Title: Wait For You
Author: J Lynn
Publisher: Self Published
Page Count: 360

Goodreads Synopsis:

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

As most of you may know, I love anything by JLA and this was no different! This was such a fun read and I was enticed by the characters and the growing love I had for them, this book was great and I really enjoyed it!

This book was mainly character driven and there wasn't much about the setting and the plot pretty much took a backseat to the characters and the relationship which is something I read JLA books for. I loved the characters in this book. I really liked the main character and I LOVED the love interest Cam and the relationship they went through! As much as I liked the main character, I liked the side characters even more which, if you've read this book, will understand. The side characters such as Brit and Jacob who were absolutely hilarious!

The relationship in this book was so great like most of the romances in JLA books! It was so nice to read a book that focuses on a relationship only because we start off seeing Avery try to deny her feelings for Cam but we see that grow into their relationship and then we feel heartbreak when they feel heartbreak because JLA just has a way to make you care and want to hug all her characters! (except the evil ones of course).

The characters in this book weren't necessarily realistic but I didn't seem to notice that until I finished the book because the romance was keeping me busy and also the slightly darker backstory.

This book does have a more serious backstory which I will not say anymore about because spoilers but it does show through towards the end of the book but it was a really interesting twist to the story because when revelations are made so much of the story changes and everything goes wrong and right and ALL THE FEELS.

Overall I really enjoyed this book when I was reading it because JLA can do no wrong for me! So I gave this book:

5/5 stars

That's all for this review! I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you again soon!
Happy Reading!

Lily x
