Review: Every Last Breath by Jennifer L Armentrout

Title: Every Last Breath
Author: Jennifer L Armentrout
Page Count: 400
Publishers: Harlequin Teen

Goodreads Synopsis:

Every choice has consequences—but seventeen-year-old Layla faces tougher choices than most. Light or darkness. Wickedly sexy demon prince Roth, or Zayne, the gorgeous, protective Warden she never thought could be hers. Hardest of all, Layla has to decide which side of herself to trust.

Layla has a new problem, too. A Lilin—the deadliest of demons—has been unleashed, wreaking havoc on those around her…including her best friend. To keep Sam from a fate much, much worse than death, Layla must strike a deal with the enemy while saving her city—and her race—from destruction.

Torn between two worlds and two different boys, Layla has no certainties, least of all survival, especially when an old bargain comes back to haunt them all. But sometimes, when secrets are everywhere and the truth seems unknowable, you have to listen to your heart, pick a side—and then fight like hell…

I have been waiting to read this book for ages and I HAVE FINALLY READ IT! I was beyond excited for the finale for the Dark Elements series and I was not disappointed.

The book started of straight away and from then on was no stop action. The book was extremely fast paced but I think it tied all the loose ends from the previous book nicely as well as some surprising twists along the way. I was pleased with the plot in general of this book and I was never bored whilst reading it.

As for the characters, I have some major feels coming back to Roth, Zayne and Layla. I loved Roth again as well as Layla (I've never liked Zayne in the first place) and I am so happy with how the relationships worked out at the end of this book. Although I am not the biggest fan of Zayne and Layla, I did like to see how their relationship changed so much during this series especially in this last book.

We get to see more of Lilith in this book and that was something I'd really enjoyed. I really liked Lilith's character (despite her being the baddy) and the role she took in this book. I enjoyed all the scenes where her and the lilin were causing trouble for Layla and everyone and I especially enjoyed seeing much more of Hell in this book.

As I said before, I thought the ending wrapped up really nicely in this book and I'm not questioning anything or wondering what I'd missed. Overall I really enjoyed this book so I gave it...

4.5/5 stars

That's all for this review! I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you again soon!

Happy Reading!
