Goodreads Synopsis:

Embrace the Forbidden

What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?

This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.
Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

I first wanted to pick up this book because so many people had recommended it after I'd raved about how much I loved anything by Jennifer L Armentrout and I am really happy that I did decide to pick it up even if I did one year after I bought it.

First off, I can see how Jennifer L Armentrout lovers would like this book. The main character is similar to Katy specifically from the LUX series and the love interest is also similar to Daemon, but as far as the plot ,I did find that they were slightly different in a good way.

I loved Anna and Kaidan in this book. I knew from the start that I'd enjoy reading about Kaidan and Anna together because again they reminded me of Katy and Daemon. Anna was a super down to earth character which I think contrasted greatly with Kaidan's character. The side characters in this book such as Jay, Patti and some of the other Neph were amazing but like some other books, they did not take over from the main characters. By this I mean that I find that although I am content with reading from the main character, I think that some of the other characters would have a more interesting story. I did not think that with this book as I genuinely thought that every single character, developed or not, was amazing.

I particularly liked the relationship that the Neph had with their Duke father's. I think it gave this book an air of seriousness that I guess I thought it lacked as the first book was generally fun and happy. With this road trip that took up the entire book, we were way more focused on the characters and the growing romance between Kaidan and Anna so the whole Neph, no relationships, Dukes things were put to the back. I also think that the fact that this first book was so character and romance driven made the ending of this book even better and even more heartbreaking. The ending of this book had me on the edge of my seat because I had so many ideas of what was going to happen yet it did not end as I would have expected.

Despite me saying that this book is a road trip and is generally laid back, the plot was still so gooooooood! I really found myself reading on not only because of the characters but also because of the fact that I just loved where the characters went and what they did whilst they were there.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and I am so so so anticipating the next book! I gave it...

5.5/6 stars!

That is all for this review! I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you again soon!

Happy Reading!
