Goodreads synopsis:

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy Internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbour, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something... unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

I loved this book and if you have any doubt in reading a novel where the the love interest is an alien! I gave this book 5/5 stars mainly because of the main character and the love interest because Katy (the main character) is a book blogger! And Daemon, well he's Daemon so yeah.

Warning this review is FULL of spoilers.

When looking back at this book I realise what people talk about when they compare this book to Twilight. Because it is.

I however did not care how much this was like Twilight because this book was amazing. And no matter how much the plot is like Twilight it was still original and it was unexpected!

When the book first started I hated Daemon so much because he was like he was described, arrogant and rude (Well done Jennifer L Armentrout) but how the book ended with Kat not wanting him as such drove me crazy because after all this time of her going crazy over him and she says no!

I see why Kat is cautious of Daemon because he does seem like the kind of guy who shouldn't be trusted with girls that easily even if they do have this weird magical connection but in the end I thought it would be Daemon who had the doubts especially when we find out about what happens with his brother (who I don't think is dead).

When there is all this stuff going around that 'being with a human is not prohibited but it's pointless' I felt for Kat because thats like Daemon saying that being with her would be pointless.

Throughout the entire book, I liked how Kat would stay grounded and put things before Daemon, things like Dee and even her blog!
Speaking of her blog!!!!! I swear that Katy is now one of my all time favourite Female protagonists! She does book hauls and 'Waiting on Wednesday' and it just made the book so much more realistic and relatable and it helped that Jennifer had an amazing way of making you understand the situations the characters were in and also she makes it easy for us to understand how they feel.

Even though aliens of these kind aren't real (WE DON'T KNOW THAT YET THEY MAY BE 0_O) Jennifer also made it easy for us to believe that they were.

I am still slightly confused as to why Ash and the others were so sour to Katy at the start of the book because then she wasn't such a threat then, I can understand why they are sour later in the book but at the start it didn't really make much sense.

To end this I have to say that I think something bad is going to happen to Dee! I just seem to think that!

I also wonder if Katy is being turned into a Luxen? Can that even happen? I guess I'm going to find out in the rest of the series?

Overall this book was amazing and so so so well written I would recommend with anyone and it is a solid 5/5 stars!
