Review: Wicked by Jennifer L Armentrout

Title: Wicked
Author: Jennifer L Armentrout
Publishers: Jennifer L Armentrout
Page Count: 300

Goodreads Synopsis:

Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

I love anything that Jennifer L Armentrout writes and this was no exception! I loved Wicked! It was so enjoyable and cute yet packed full of action!

The main thing I love about any JLA book is the characters! All of the characters in this book were so fun to read about! Ivy, the main character, was such an strong lead and I loved her story and her approach to everything in the book!

As for Ren, I LOVE Ren! He was adorable throughout the book and I just found him such an entertaining character! Like all of JLA's main characters he was totally swoon worthy! I loved the relationship between Ren and Ivy and how they were so willing to do things so that the other person would be safe.

Tink is another side character in the novel. He was hilarious and there were moments when I literally laughed out loud on public transport just because of something he'd said.

The main plot of the book took so many twists and turns and even though I could see some of the outcome of what was going on it was still so surprising so see  how everything worked out! Although I could predict some of the plot there were still so many twists and turns in the book that I was totally not expecting that kept me on the edge of my seat.

The magical creatures in this book was something that I really loved and got me interested in the book. Although I feel the book was more romance based until the end, I still loved the world this was set in and all the creatures in it!

Finally, there was a ton of action in this book. The action scenes were written so well and clearly that it was as if I was watching a movie! JLA always writes such cool scenes when it comes to fighting and action!

I loved Wicked so much and it has become my favourite book I've read this year!

5/5 stars

That's all for this post! I hope you all enjoyed and I'll see you soon!

Happy Reading!
